Senior Scientist, Detector Systems and Products Development

Summary:
The successful applicant will assume a key role for the company’s radiation detector products development in various applications from medical imaging to scientific and industrial applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and commission new test fixtures, new test instrumentation, and software control systems for product characterization and production.
- Responsible for radiation detector products development in various applications include detector design and device process development.
- Play a key role in the development of radiation detector characterization instrumentation, test processes, test equipment and systems for various x-ray and gamma ray applications of the company’s radiation detector products especially medical imaging (Ex: SPECT, gamma camera, PET, X-ray’s, PCCT…).
- Responsible for troubleshooting and automation of characterization and testing equipment and system electronics as required.
- Responsible for documentation of various related SOPs.
- Contribute to other tasks as assigned.
- Routine engineering product development report.
Skills and Experience:
A minimum of three years hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Radiation detector device physics, instrumentation design and devices simulation
- Imaging systems, scanner, and portable radiation detector design “a Must”
- Medical device and imaging system design, prototype, and development highly desirable.
- Scientific experiments system setup, test fixture design, development, and debug.
- Software automation and computer programming, include medical equipment and device physic simulations (GEANT-4/Gate, COMSOL…)
- Firmware/ASIC experience highly desirable, A.I. skills “big plus”.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- A hands-on individual who works well in a team environment
Education:
Higher degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or equivalent. PhD level highly desirable.
Location:
Vital Materials Engineering Center is in a 62,000 sq fit facility in Bowling Green, Ohio
- Working onsite at the Engineering Center is required.
