Description
Job Summary:
The Electronics Engineer is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, validation and repair of circuit card assemblies (CCA’s) and determining the best method of achieving the highest test coverage using different test processes. They must have a board-level understanding of In-Circuit Test (ICT), Boundary Scan Test (BST), and Design-for-Test (DFT) strategies to ensure test capability. The engineer must have an understanding of Functional Test strategies (manual and automated), Test Program Set (TPS) development and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) design.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Estimate time and materials needed to complete projects
- Maintain records and documentation relating to the ongoing completion of projects
- Maintaining Database with accurate and correct information
- Inventory Control Management
- Ensure that work complies with all safety and company requirements
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems
- Test, troubleshoot, and repair CCA’s as well as system level units
- Reverse engineer pinouts or signals required for testing
- Perform in circuit and out of circuit testing at the component level
- Perform circuit card and unit repairs
- Document technical information and test results

- Ability to perform complex Circuit Card Assembly, Power Supply, and Avionics troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to read and comprehend schematics and other technical documentation
- Ability to perform component level troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuit card assembly
- Ability to Solder and desolder through-hole, SMD components and perform PCB rework
- Familiar with Electronics hardware design and test documentation
- In-depth knowledge of the electronics industry
Education/Experience Requirements:
Associates degree or higher in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline. Preferred bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or related field with at least seven years’ experience.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a workshop environment and requires the ability to operate measurement/test equipment and hand tools. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and fingers. Close visual proximity to computer to perform duties. Ability to lift, up to 50 lbs. and transport between departments with and without company property.
